The ten principles of the UN Global Compact
We have been an active member of the UN Global Compact since December 15, 2021. This means that we are subject to the 10 principles of this award.
- Corporate sustainability begins with a company's value system and a principle-based approach to business. This means acting in a way that fulfills fundamental responsibilities in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption.
- As a responsible company, we pursue the same values and principles wherever they are present and know that good practices in one area do not compensate for harm in another. By incorporating the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact into strategies, policies and procedures and establishing a culture of integrity, Rothschenk not only fulfills its fundamental responsibility to people and the environment, but also creates the conditions for long-term success.
- The ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact are derived from: the Universal Declaration of Human Rights , the Declaration of the International Labor Organization on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work , the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development and the Convention of the United Nations against corruption.
Human Rights
Principle 1 : Businesses should support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights; and
Principle 2 : Make sure they are not complicit in human rights abuses.
Work
Principle 3 : Businesses should uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining;
Principle 4 : Abolition of all forms of forced and compulsory labor;
Principle 5 : The effective abolition of child labor; and
Principle 6 : Elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and occupation.
Environment
Principle 7 : Companies should support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges;
Principle 8 : Taking initiatives to promote greater environmental awareness; and
Principle 9 : Promote the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.
Fighting Corruption
Principle 10 Companies should work against corruption in all its forms, including extortion and bribery.
