The PROFIMAT® tire cradle, also known as a tire protector, tire bed or tire shoe, is an elastic protective plate that protects tires from flat spots. A flat tire often occurs when a vehicle has been stationary for several weeks or years, causing the contact point between the tire and the ground to flatten due to the weight of the vehicle. This can be noticeable in the form of a slight running unsteadiness or vibrations in the steering wheel. The PROFIMAT® tire cradle offers an optimum solution to prevent this problem. Thanks to its elasticity, it adapts perfectly to the tire and offers an ideal contact surface due to its curvature. The vehicle weight is evenly distributed over the tire cradle and dissipated. The tire cradle is ideal for vehicles with seasonal registration, classic cars, motorcycles, caravans, cars, caravans as well as horse and boat trailers. It is ideal for the standard size for tires from 13-18 inches. The tire cradle is equipped with flattened drive-on aids at the front and rear, making it easy to drive on and off. Thanks to its special shape, its weight and the anti-slip effect of the recycled rubber granulate used, the tire cradle remains securely in place. Another advantage is the groove line integrated on the back, which makes it possible to easily cut the tire cradle in half with a carpet knife if necessary, for example for narrower tires such as those on motorcycles. The PROFIMAT® tire cradle can be used all year round, although the suitability of the surface should be checked if necessary. An independent test report (IPW Report 532) has confirmed the effectiveness of the tire cradle. In a flatspot test, the PROFIMAT® tire cradle was able to reduce the intensity of the dynamic force fluctuation by more than 25 %, which clearly confirmed the client’s thesis.
