One of the most frequent causes of road accidents is inadequately secured loads. Accident statistics show that one in five accidents in heavy goods transport can be attributed to inadequate load securing (insurance accident researcher, as of 2016).
DGUV Regulation1 §4
This regulation governs the obligation to instruct the personnel responsible for load securing on an annual basis. The responsibility and thus the liability cannot be delegated “downwards” without this instruction.
There are good reasons for this: In load securing, even small errors can lead to significant losses in financial terms as well as to the goods. This can even lead to personal injury. As you can see: Transport safety is an important topic, even in everyday life.
In our seminars, we teach entrepreneurs, managing directors, loading masters and loaders or forklift drivers the basics of driving physics, lashing force calculation and the correct stowing and securing of loads.

You will receive a certificate from us for each participant as proof of the instruction required by DGUV Regulation 1 §4. This means that you fulfil the legal obligation to train authorised employees in the company once a year in correct load securing.

The VDI 2700 and CTU Code training courses complement each other and offer a comprehensive understanding and expertise in load securing. Participation in both training courses can help to deepen knowledge and skills in relation to load securing and ensure that the load is properly secured, regardless of the type of means of transport or goods being shipped. The VDI 2700 and CTU Code load securing training courses are both designed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills to carry out safe and proper load securing. However, there are some differences and key aspects between the two training courses:
VDI 2700 is a guideline issued by the Association of German Engineers (VDI) and specifies the requirements and recommendations for load securing. The VDI 2700 training course focuses on the theoretical principles of load securing, including the physical principles, the forces acting on the load and the various load securing methods. The focus is on imparting theoretical knowledge and understanding.
The CTU Code (Code of Practice for Packing of Cargo Transport Units) was developed by the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) and defines the requirements and recommendations for packing and securing cargo containers. The CTU Code training focuses on the practical application of load securing in freight containers, including the correct packing, stowage and securing of the load. The focus is on teaching practical skills and techniques.
