The problem:
Pool owners know the problem: After the wintering of the pool, it is dirty in spring, the tarpaulin sunk and only with great effort to pull out of the pool. In addition, the construction, add-on parts or the foil can get expensive damage due to frost. In addition, ice pressure pads must be installed to drain the snow and ice loads in winter.

The [R] Pool Cushion is simply inflated in autumn (battery blower, bellows or by means of flexible universal adapter - each available here in the SHOP), placed on the pool and stretched with the tarpaulin.
Unlike other manufacturers who combine several small pads, this solution does not create "water pockets", i.e. depressions between the individual pads. The cover is stretched evenly and acts like a roof where environmental influences simply run off.

In summer, it is enough not to fully inflate the cushion, since the water level in the pool is already just below the edge. This will help you achieve the desired curvature of the cover effortlessly.
In winter, most customers dismantle their filter system to protect it from frost. To do this, simply drain the water to just below the inlet (usually approx. 50-60 cm lower edge from the pool edge) and completely fill the pool cushion with air (approx. 1-1.2 m high inflatable). This will still give you a height of about 60 cm above the pool edge to create a "roof" with the cover.

You should know that:
The volume of the filled XXL air cushion changes due to temperature changes (winter/summer). At warm ambient temperature it expands, at colder temperatures the air contracts.
Especially with falling outside temperatures in autumn and winter it may be necessary to refill the XL pool cushion with air.
In spring the air will expand again and you can let some of it out. However, the XL air cushion is designed for these changes and cannot be damaged by them.
We explain the correct filling possibilities with el. air pump, or e.g. vacuum cleaner with blowing function, foot pump etc. in our application video for the correct operation of the valve.

Hello Guido. Depending on the raw material, we can manufacture pool cushions up to a width of 2m. Theoretically, the length is not limited. But in terms of handling, a maximum length of 8 m is recommended. In your case, the solution would be: use 2x a pool cushion with 2 × 8 m. Which cushion do I need for a round pool with a diameter of 3.6m?
Hi Daniel. With a diameter of 3.60 m you have the choice between: Pool Cushion 2×2,5 m and the 2×4 m Pool Cushion. Beim Aufblasen (ca. 1m hoch) entsteht eine Art „Kuppel“. Durch straffes Abspannen der darüberliegenden Abdeckplane kann das Wasser dann problemlos ablaufen. Dabei ist das straffe Spannen wichtiger, als das ein Poolpolster bis genau an den Rand des Pools reicht. Bei diesem Maß 3,60 m wären beide Varianten denkbar. Geht super fix aufzublasen mit der elektrischen Luftpumpe. ;-)

with a format of 5 × 3 m the 5 × 2 m pool cushion clearly the right choice. The length fits perfectly and the width is also completely sufficient, as only approx. 50 cm have to be bridged to the side. As mentioned in the other comments, the taut tensioning of the tarpaulin is essential. The new self-adhesive Velcro strips (5 × 70 cm, free upgrade with every order) help with fixing.
Hello, we have a pool with a diameter of 350 cm. 4 m is too long and 2.50 m too short, do you have an interim solution?
Hello Katja. With a diameter of 3.50 m, the Pool Cushion 2×2,5 m is the right one. When inflating (approx. 1m high) a kind of "dome" is created. The water can then run off easily by tensioning the tarpaulin above. Tight tensioning is more important than a pool cushion reaching exactly to the edge of the pool. In your case there would be a distance of about 60 cm all around. If you want to be sure, you could also take the 2×4 m Pool Cushion nehmen, denn beim Aufpumpen verkürzt sich dieses je nach eingebrachtem Volumen in der Länge und Breite, also z.B. von 4m auf 3,50m. Geht übrigens am schnellsten mit der elektrischen Luftpumpe. ;-)

in this case, a 2×4 m XXL Pool Cushion. When fully inflated, it has a format of around 1.80 x 3.60 m, which is enough to create a nice slope with a taut tarpaulin. All around there would be some space of approx. 25 cm, but this would be loosely bridged without creating "water pockets".

For an oval pool, wouldn't a shorter cushion be better? e.g. 6x3 m?
Hallo Nikolai, theoretisch ja. Aber der Rohstoff „Folie“ ist auf 2 m begrenzt. In der Länge sind wir nicht limitiert, sodass 8m kein Problem sind, um möglichst nah an den Rand zu kommen. Du könntest natürlich auch 1x 2x7m nehmen und rechts und links noch jeweils eines der 725 x 1.200 mm Poolpolster um die Abdeckplane zu unterstützen. Aber zum Einen reicht erfahrungsgemäß ein großes Polster in der Mitte aus, wenn die Plane sauber gestrafft wird. Zum anderen besteht immer etwas die Gefahr von Wassertaschen, bei Einsatz mehrerer Poolkissen.

Hello Dirk, the 2x5 m XXXL Pool Cushion perfekt passen. Es wird beim Aufblasen geringfügig kleiner (es baut sich ja in der Höhe stufenlos bis zu ca. 1m auf) und bleibt daher innerhalb deiner Maße. Bei dieser Größe unebdingt eine el. Luftpumpe oder z.B einen Staubsauger mit Blasfunktion verwenden, sonst dauert es doch recht lange. Mfg, Thomas.

am besten wäre das 2×6 m Poolkissen geeignet (In unserem neuen SHOP CoverMio hier zu finden), da es das Maß des Pools am besten ausfüllt. Ein kürzeres Kissen birgt natürlich immer auch das „Risiko“ eines Einsinkens der Plane. Letzendlich hängt es bei einem kürzerem 2x5m Kissen von den Möglichkeiten ab, wie Sie die Plane straff ziehen können. Hallo Andrea, das 2×4 m Poolpolster wäre tatsächlich ideal.
Wichtig ist das straffe Abspannen der Plane, das Polster bewirkt dann die gewünschte Höhe (bis 1-1,2 m) und damit das gewünschte Gefälle.
Kleiner Tipp: Entweder einen Staubsauger mit Blasfunktion verwenden, sofern vorhanden. Oder unsere elektrische Luftpumpe.

Kleiner Tipp: Beschweren Sie das Poolpolster mit einem Gewicht (z.B. Holzplatte) um das Luftentweichen zu beschleunigen. Anschließend rollen Sie das Poolpolster z.B. mit einer Rolle in Richtung geöffentes Ventil auf.

Something else to mention are the pool pillows from Rothschenk!
In the last really snowy winter (in North - Hesse) tried for the first time and rated as a great product.
Finally pool pads are on the market that have valves that are really tight for months (8), which is not the case with all manufacturers in the field.
Even 30 - 40cm of fresh snow could not bring the Rothschenk pool cushions to their knees.
Winterized in October and taken from pool cover at the end of May with the same amount of air.
A clear recommendation from me when it comes to winterizing above ground pools.
This keeps snow and dirt out and you have clean clear water in the spring!
Also a form of correct handling of limited raw materials ( drinking water).

vielen Dank für die Nachfrage. Bei diesem Format würden wir dir das XXXL Poolpolster im Format 2×5 m empfehlen. Je nach dem wie straff du deine Abdeckplane spannen kannst, würde bereits 1 Poolpolster gut ausreichen. Denkbar wären auch zwei Poolpolster nebeneinander – wird aber wahrscheinlich nicht notwendig sein – es ist ja auch ein Kostenfaktor ;-). Nebeneinander ginge, da beim Aufblasen sich das Polster ja in jede Richtung ca. 20 cm verkürzt und 3,80 m damit abgedeckt würden. Wenn du noch Fragen hast schreib uns einfach (z.B. Optimal wäre hier ein 2×7 m Poolkissen, welches Sie per Mail bei uns bestellen könnten (shoporder(at)rothschenk.de). werden Sie demnächst auch runde Luftpolster in Ihr Sortiment aufnehmen?
Ich habe einen 6m -Rundpool (komplett in die Erde eingelassen) ohne eine Möglichkeit die Winterplane stramm zu verzurren, da alles rundherum mit Gehwegplatten zugelegt ist.
Ich habe lediglich die Möglichkeit im Außendurchmesserbereich der Plane gefüllte Wassersäcke aufzulegen.
Somit habe ich Bedenken, dass wenn ich ein ovales Polster verwenden muss, ich wieder ungewünschte Wasseransammlungen auf der Winterplane bekomme, welche die Plane einsinken lässt, da von unten die notwendige Unterstützung fehlt.

würde da ein 5*2 poolkissen ausreichen.
über den Kissen kommt später eine Lkw Plane und wird mit Spanngurte festgemacht.

Hallo Marcel, prinzipiell würde das https://covermio.de/produkt/xxxl-poolpolster-poolkissen-2-000-x-6-000-mm-set-sonderanfertigung/ besser passen, da sich ein 2x5m Kissen beim befüllen ja auf ca. 4,50 m verkürtzt. Dann wäre sonst links und rechts zu deinem Pool noch jeweils 1,5 m Freiraum. Allerdings sind die eckigen Poolpolster für die Saison 2022 leider bereits ausverkauft. ein Poolkissen erscheint mir da etwas zu wenig, wie sehen Sie das?
Hallo Joachim, zuerst einmal: Gratulation zu dem richtig großen Pool. In der Tat wäre es hier sinnvoll zwei Poolkissen der Dimension 2x8m neben einander zu legen. Dann wäre die Fläche bestmöglich abgedeckt. LG dein CoverMio Team.
