On 25.01.2019 the time had come – G&H GmbH Rothschenk was able to receive the fruits of the hard work of the past weeks. Three awards were presented to the load securing company (dunnage bags, lashings…) at the Burkhardushaus in Wรผrzburg.
Dr. Stefan Mรผssig, who together with Johanna Ott Rothschenk had led Rothschenk to certification, led through the supporting program. The Rothschenk team was awarded exclusive participation in the first 1st environmental management convoy in Lower Franconia. The “Bavarian Environmental Pact” certificate was awarded by Mr. Bertram Eidel, Head of the Environment, Health and Consumer Protection Department of the Government of Lower Franconia.
Mr. Oliver Freitag, Head of Innovation and Environment, IHK Wรผrzburg-Schweinfurt had the special honour of presenting the EMAS (Eco-Mangement and Audit Scheme) certificate to Mr. Jรผrgen Schulte-Wieking. This honored the development and introduction of a management system to record and continuously improve environmental performance and communicate it to the outside world. EMAS is currently the highest environmental certification that can be achieved.
The third certificate for G&H GmbH Rothschenk is a special novelty: EMASplus is a comprehensive sustainability management system based on EMAS. As of 28.01.2019, only around 15 companies in Germany with a total of 51 locations can claim this high standard, which made the Rothschenk “EMAS” working group all the more delighted when Dr. Stefan Mรผssig presented them with the EMASplus certification certificate.
Why all the effort? The subsequent press conference provided sufficient time and discussion material to explain the advantages of such voluntary certification. For Rothschenk, the benefits lie specifically in communicating high corporate standards and genuine, practiced and verifiable values to customers and suppliers alike. Together with the Ecovadis award Ecovadis award (silver medal!) this results in a sustainable fingerprint both for the environment and in the perception of our business partners.
After a short breather, the EMAS team will get back to work in order to achieve the newly set goals as excellently as in the past weeks.
You can find more information on EMAS and environmental certification on the Homepage of the FUU which accompanied us very well through the process.
