The Dually Bag dunnage bags are an efficient solution for overcoming challenges such as different load units, correct load distribution and filling gaps during transportation. The use of the innovative Y-hose enables even filling of the airbags, while the Quick-Connect system promises quick and easy installation.
The [R] Dually Bag stands out due to its combination of pressure stability and large contact surface, making it the ideal and cost-efficient solution for securing loads in gaps of approx. 40 cm and above.

What happens if you place two dunnage bags next to each other in the loading gap and inflate them?
Apart from the fact that it is hardly possible to inflate both airbags at the same time in practice and is cumbersome, this variant carries a much greater risk.
Before the container is closed, everything looks correct to the loading personnel. However, this looks quite different during transportation.
One of the two stowage cushions will most likely “work its way out” upwards or downwards during transportation. Vibrations during rail, truck or ship transport cause the two dunnage bags to shift against each other.
This variant would therefore also not provide correct load securing in accordance with the CTU Code.

A special filling adapter has been developed to enable even and, above all, time-saving filling of the Dually Bag.
Thanks to the Y-shaped hose, both chambers can be filled simultaneously and with the same amount of air.
The adapter is compatible with standard Rothschenk filling systems via a Quick Connect solution.

Larger gaps in traffic jams can occur transversely and longitudinally to the direction of travel. 3D pads are often used for this, but they do not have the same pressure stability as classic dunnage bags. In addition to our duvets, we have also developed our double chamber cushions.
This can absorb the forces generated by the load, adapt to the various gaps and even fill large gaps.
Another decisive advantage is the central filling of both pads via a valve. This ensures even distribution of the air introduced at all times. Our double-chamber upholstery is always custom-made, e.g. for our fixed installation. Also available with automated filling on request.

Filling the shelter safely

Sometimes the goods have what is known as a pallet shelter. This means that it has a smaller dimension than the base area of the pallet. This is often difficult to assess. In order to be on the safe side when it comes to load securing, we have developed our saddle bag. You can use them to fill gaps and achieve a tight fit.
Another area of application is the central positioning of pallets in containers and trucks with fixed bodies, e.g. to comply with axle loads and the correct weight distribution. This creates large storage gaps, which can be filled with a saddlebag in 3D design. The two dunnage bags are always connected with a fabric at the correct distance, thus achieving good lateral stabilization of the pallets and reducing the risk of tipping.

Pallets are standardized. But the goods usually don’t. In addition, the goods sometimes have what is known as a base in relation to the Euro pallet, i.e. they are smaller than the base area of the pallet. A dunnage bag is generally used to ensure that the gaps can be filled to secure the load.
If there is a gap on both the right and left, a Rothschenk saddlebag is the ideal solution. Two stowage pads (on the right and left of the goods) are connected with a robust PP fabric tarpaulin. This means that the goods are form-fitted and can be secured in just a few simple steps.
In order to form a force- and form-fit load unit, additional securing is necessary, especially if the goods are positioned below the pallet dimensions. If this is only the case on one side, a single stowage cushion is usually sufficient.
However, if the shelter occurs on both sides, we recommend using our Rothschenk saddle bag with two sewn-on storage pads on the right and left. If the offset is all around the goods, this is not a major problem either. We have developed our SIRI retaining ring for this purpose. This is because it completely cushions the gap like a hood.
You can’t do it without customizing our saddlebags to the customer’s needs. However, as the saddlebag is made to customer order at Rothschenk in Germany, we can realize any size.
