What is the load limit of anti-slip mats?

According to VDI guideline 2700ff, sheet 3.2, sheets 9 and 15, the maximum load of anti-slip mats should be selected so that 30% deformation of the material thickness is not exceeded.

When do you need a anti-slip mat?

What certifications and standards must the anti-slip accessories meet?

VDI 2700 Sheet 15 defines the requirements and properties of anti-slip mats.

Parameters such as deformation behavior under compressive load, tensile and shear strength, elongation at break and surface pressure are described as well as the behavior under temperature fluctuations, i.e. their temperature resistance.

How does the anti-slip accessory work and on which surfaces is it most effective?

The function of anti-slip mats is based on increased micro-interlocking between two surfaces. The easiest way to determine the resulting coefficient of friction is to use a coefficient of friction table. The following applies: the rougher two surfaces are, the higher the coefficient of friction.

For example, a combination of metal on wood corresponds to a value of 0.2 μ or 20% load securing by friction alone. If a anti-slip mat is used between the two materials, the value increases to 0.6 μ or 60% load securing through friction.

In the latter case, the application would only have to prevent 40% of the load weight from moving with additional securing devices.
