Over 300 years ago, a clergyman – who has since been canonized – was thrown off a Prague bridge into the Vltava. According to legend, he did not want to break the seal of confession and was punished for it. Since then, he has been the patron saint of bridges.
Rothschenk was called in as a specialist in load securing to ensure that at least the fall would not happen again when it came to transporting a statue of St. Nepomuk.
The challenge here was to ensure that the saint was fixed in a way that was both gentle and as stable as possible during transportation. Secured with 4-layer dunnage bags, the valuable statue was transported from the stonemason in Würzburg to its new location in Markelsheim on the bridge – with success.
